Leica RTC360 Specs
I am comparing specs on the Leica RTC360, Faro S350 (our current scanner), and ZnF 5016. I'm looking for more information on the RTC360, specificely number of point/360° for each of the resolution settings (3mm, 6mm, 12mm @10m). Also I believe there is a quality setting where it will scan more than once to improve the scans. This information isn't in the Data sheet provided.

Re: Leica RTC360 Specs
Hi,
What exactly are you looking for or why do you need to know the exact number of points on a full 360 scan? It various depending on the environment and if you scan indoors or outdoors for example.
You do not have a quality setting. The RTC360 captures always in the highest quality. Perhaps you refer to the double scan mode. Double scanning captures the environment twice and allows directly cleaning of any moving object between scan one and two.
Hope that clarifies your question.

I'm just comparing specs at this point.KlausR wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:21 pm Hi,

Points per scan is given on both Faro and ZnF. Your right the amount of points will vary, I should have asked for the maximum points at the three resolutions.
I will take your word on the quality setting. At the demo that was given, double scan mode was compared to the quality setting of Faro and ZnF.
When I brought the E57's from the demo into Scene, the color was applied to the scan points and there was no way to view in grayscale. Can you switch between grayscale and color in cyclone register 360?

Re: Leica RTC360 Specs
Be careful if just looking at the spec sheet and speak to your local Leica representative for best advise.JMontie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:15 pm I'm just comparing specs at this point.

Register360 gives you easy access to greyscale, intensity and colour (if images are taken). If necessary 3rd party scanners can be read in Register360, too.

Re: Leica RTC360 Specs
I'm curious as to what the range is at different settings. Can anyone tell me please. That is missing from the specifications sheet.
Thanks

Re: Leica RTC360 Specs
You sure that it doesn't say anywhere? it is 130 m for low and medium , and 60 m for high if that's what you're asking for..

Re: Leica RTC360 Specs
The range for the S350 at 350M is significantly grater than the RTC360's range.
This may or may not be important to you.
Range of any scanner is also dependent on the reflectivity of the object being scanned. Dark object simply do not return (reflect) as much light as a white object. Dark objects shorten the range of any scanner. So, what you want to scan and what size area you want to scan has to consider the range of the instrument you chose.
Personally I think the RTC360 is better for interior building scanning and the S350 is better for exterior landscape, topo scanning purposes.
I do both so I use the S350 which does both, but I would love to have a RTC360 for the interiors of the buildings I scan.

Hey Paul,
Range specs are "hidden" in the manual on Pg 29
Struggling attaching image, but it's
Low : (12mm at 10m) - max 130m
Med : (6mm at 10m) - max 130m
High : (3mm at 10m) - max 65m
