Faro scans to Recap

Post by SceneKraken »

I am trying to export faro scans direct to Recap from Cyclone. These scans are registered in cyclone and appear fine in the model space. However when exporting them to recap they load in unregistered. Has anyone experienced this before and how to fix it?

Which format and settings do you use to export and import?

I am using Cyclone 9.4.2 and straight export to recap from the frozen scanworld. So it doesn't allow a change of settings as such. The newer version of Cyclone does not work with nested registrations direct to recap.

Sounds like a bad bug in Cyclone...
As a workaround you can try to export first some other format than rcs. For example E57. Then you import that into ReCap.
But that is quite an ugly workaround...
For testing purpose I would also suggest to go only with a small set of scans. Three scan should be enough to check if everything is fine.
