Post by mcarp »

Hello everyone!

Wondering what everyone is using for BLK 360 Tripods? My team and have been discussing beefing up our tripods - stabilization accessories, best tripod models, etc. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

We recently bought a Benro Mach 3 38CL tripod adapted for BLK360 from Laserscanning Europe.
The original BLK360 tripod is flimsy to say the least and we were worried that it would tip over accidentally.

The new tripod is almost an overkill. Very stiff and solid, all legs and column fully extended it is 175 cm tall. With supplied short column you can get as low as 18 cm above ground. (plus the height of the scanner). You can also mount the column upside down. And it has a bubble level.

It works very well with BLK360 but it is actually taller and more solid than the standard tripod that came with our Faro M70 scanner.
So we swapped the mounting plates and now we are using Benro with Faro and Faro's original tripod with BLK.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. We're comparing some different options and will add your feedback to our discussion. Agree with you about the stock tripod which is why we're searching for a solution. I'll update this thread with the outcome of our research and the solution we move forward with. Thanks again!
