overlap; - Amount of scan data overlapping between two adjacent scans.
Strength - I guess this is based on a high or low amount of overlap.
Clou to Cloud - Where two or more scans are meshed together using the overlap and a cloud to cloud algorithm.
Bundle Error - The adjustment across the whole network.

-> Register
Error vector in Clou to cloud constraint (aligned x.xxx m) The residual error after a cloud to cloud fit.

See my answers above.

Hey Silva, if you paste this link in your web browser, it will call up the help web page that installs with Register 360. There's a glossary which explains all the commands:

Code: Select all

file:///C:/Program%20Files/Leica%20Geosystems/Cyclone%20REGISTER%20360/help_manual/reg360help.html#gloss

Thank you all,
It helped.

In the strength parameter I was trying to understand it numerically, the explanation in the glossary is a bit general, and not explains it very well, in my point of view

Anyone know of a quantitative explanation? For the error, error vector, group error, group error vector? I think these statistics are used in Cyclone only. Some of the definitions just use the same word defined in the definition.

Aside, for Reg360 cloud to cloud I'm not sure what "matching geometry of point clouds" means.

I have unused training sessions with Leica. I will also try to get a more specific definition when I take the training some time in the next few months.
It would be useful for me to understand how I can change my field technique to improve the error statistics. And understand what error is acceptable. I recall being told less than 0.03 ft error is acceptable. Then there are results I don't understand such as when the error is 0.000. Absolutely 0 even if I increase the number of decimal places.

I've also learned that careful visual inspection of the registration is most important. I noticed in a project that one setup was misaligned by a few inches despite the error statistics being good.
