Jetstream question in publish .E57 file

Post by Ioannis » Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:09 am

Hello LSF, i have a registered pointcloud file from Cyclone in E57, how can i share it with my customers ?
Someone send me a .JSV file and i open it with a portable version of jetsream viewer that also send me, possibly he has publish it from Cyclone as a jetsream file?
Is there any way to do the shame in order to share easilly and cheap my E57 files with costumers without jetsream viewer ? Any suggestions ?

E57 is a format to transfer data between all sorts of scanning packages. I guess it depends on what software your client already has. They might be able to use it directly. Alternatively they can get ReCap basic and import it there, Cyclone without licenses should be able to open it too.

I would suggest ReCap as well.

What Software do you have?

You're not going to be able to create a portable file that looks at the cloud points in 3D orbit mode and photo bubbles in Recap.
Jetstream can do that - the portable file as well as the portaable viewer can be put on a memory key or a portable drive, depending on the size.
The minimum you need is a Cyclone base license $40-60 (to ingest the Pre-registered or individual scan) and a Jetstream Publisher annual subscription ($2050)- https://lasers.leica-geosystems.com/sof ... -publisher
if you get a publisher pro license (more $) you can create Jetsream, Truview, and LGS files - all potentially portable formats with varying amounts of functionality.
The benefit of the Jetstream File is you can measure directly in the cloud record fly-throughs, view in-scan and mesaure (with or without photo), view full 360 orbit inside scan and outside scan cloud- and the size is 80-90% smaller compressed format. Others can also ingest the Jetstream file if they use Cloudworxs in there CAD or Modeling program. This is all I know except ReCap which has some severe limitations- but is quite cheap compared to the others

I have cyclone register and cloudworx. Unfortunately Jetstream pro costs 7200 euro plus vats plus ccp, I think is enormous that cost for publishing our jobs..

which more widely accepted format
but this may quite the old forum question

CloudCompare .... its free
You can take measurements, point listing, slice, cross section etc
and it has its own version of bubble view

Cheers,
Mike.
