Faro Scene horizontal alignment scanproject

Post by janharink »

Hello,

i have a scanproject, made with Faro S150 and Scene, which exists of 91 scans. All scans have been processed and registered. During scanning (and processing) i have used the inclinometer, but when looking at rightview or frontview, the building seems to look skewed. The clippingbox seems to be aligned with the scan.
I have nog floor to align, because all floors are sloping.
How can i get the scan with a proper X-, Y- and Z-axis?

regards, Jan

The inclinometer of the Faro provides reliable results, however on large areas it is better to use the targets detected with the total station to avoid the "banana" effect.
To verify that the registration is correct you could estimate the verticality of a wall or restrict the registration to a few scans and compare the results.

Make sure that you did set the rotation of the clusters and the workspace to zero. Faro produces usually reliable results.
Also you are looking wrong at the project. Your view is set to "perspective" but you need to set it to "orthographic".
