Prevu3D Introduction!

Post by kevin.grover »

Hi everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce the community to the Prevu3D reality software!

We offer the best in class meshing solution from point cloud data along with high resolution texture mapping within an interactive desktop and cloud application to explore your projects with more realism than before.

Our solution allows for massive point cloud datasets to be meshed for use on entry level computers and the web quickly and easily. Explore your project with first and third person navigation, crop sections of point clouds, import 3D assets, or easily cut objects directly with the Prevu3D application to fully interact with your space.

We have a lot of exciting content we are excited to share with the community as we grow, so feel free to check us out at https://www.prevu3d.com/ or on our LinkedIn Page (https://www.linkedin.com/company/prevu3d/videos/).

I've tried it with a zip of 3 e57 files but it gives an error.
I also believe E57 isn't the way to go anymore. All treat e57 differently.

Also on your website no mention of any price. Given the fact that there are many suppliers clear communication on this is essential.

Hi Lieven,

Thanks for giving it a try, but can you share some info on the error that you are getting?? Feel free to even reach out to me at [email protected] to see what the issue is. It may just be the format, but will be easy to diagnose if you can share some info.

E57 is what we are supporting at the moment, but you are correct that everyone treats them differently. However, we do have some custom readers for E57 formats from various companies as they encode imagery in different ways so we have some workflows for proper exports. But we are working on some direct read integrations with vendors which will be more powerful.

As for pricing we are based on project size (with unlimited use), but as we have specific requirements for capture (overlap, settings, image quality, etc.) and looking to deliver a different product with more editable 3D datasets, we are looking to work with close partners to grow with them. Happy to discuss.

Just as an update for everyone, our ideal format to mesh is a structured point cloud with embedded imagery in E57. This will provide the highest quality data overall, provided it has good overlap and little noise in the scan.

Having said this, we can also process NavVis VLX data so contact me at [email protected] or [email protected] if interested in this. It will be part of our automated workflow very soon, so stay tuned.

If anyone has questions on formats we support, or data collection requirements for the best meshing in Prevu3D, check our our support pages here.

Very interesting! Edit: Signed up and trying it now! /Edit I've been working on my own meshing procedure, would love to see how they compare - I can provide e57 files of this 11 foot 8 scene:
