Best CAD plug in software

Post by justin.scott »

Hi all,

just wondering your thoughts on the best cloud-to-cad software going around at the moment. Im currently running AutoCAD and have used Pointtools previously with a fair bit of success. Is there anything better/more affordable?

Thanks in advance,
Justin

Rhino 3d with Arena Plug In.

I have Rhino set up with all the autocad shortcut commands so there is no real difference apart from the general layout.

I do export out to bricscad for sheeting, but the cost of both of these software's is still significantly cheaper than Autocad.

These guys did have a video of a pointcloud plug in for bricscad, but the video has since been taken down?

CloudWorx is Leica's point cloud plugin for Autocad/BricsCad/Revit/NavisWork.

Have you checked out the new FARO AsBuilt Suite plugins for Autocad (AutoCad, Plant 3D, Civil 3D etc...) and Revit?

There are lots of software and related plugins for CAD. As mentioned you are specifically more concerned about the cloud-to-CAD software where you are satisfied with the combination of AutoCAD along with Point tools. I would like to bring some more software and tools which are user-friendly and/or affordable.
1) Civil3D and Revit - This software can help to create a new drawing or import data from anywhere in few easy steps
2) Software Rhino 3D along with plugin Arena
3) Plugin CloudWorx which can be used with various CAD software and much more...

Thanks & Regards

I found Faro As-Built and Edgewise to be the best for Revit.
