BricsCAD v 20 Pointcloud Support

Post by JonnieGodfrey » Tue Oct 29, 2019 8:22 am

Has anyone tried this yet? Or the CloudWorx plugin (which I assume is just a port of the AutoCAD one)?

Thanks,

Jonnie

Hi Jonnie,

The CloudWorx for BricsCAD works in the same way as the AutoCAD version. It allows you to use all the same tools plus bring in massive point clouds over a network via JetStream/LGS file types.

Be wary of LGS over network .. we have had issues with incorrect coordinates with LGS when accessing the file via a UNC share (Cloudworx Autocad at least). Whilst we reported the bug and it may have been fixed I am pretty sure the release notes still make specific mention that using LGS should be from local storage only.

Hi Jonnie,

I have tried the cloudworx plugin for Bricscad v19 and it works just as well as in Autocad.

I also tried to attached the pointcloud using Brics alone but there was a bug due to the size of my file on conversion, I am told they have fixed this for v20.
