Yeah, it looks like the license is permanent and only requires regular price payment for update after leaving university. Cool, I think I will choose Rhino. I've heard some good things about it. I hope it will allow me to import my scanned models, work on their meshes and export them in CAD format to FEM program.
Is Rhino easy to use ? I only have experience with GOM Inspect, Meshmixer, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks.

Hi!
Are you working in Rhino now? I know that as a student (or a teacher) you can use the Autodesk educational licence (~3 years): Inventor, Fusion 360...
I've made several videos for different CAD software which may help you https://www.youtube.com/c/3Dscanguide.
Good luck!:)

Hello,

I have a pointcloud in Trimble Realworks of a large boat that I need to model in 3D. I also have Rhino. I read that few plugins such Arena4D and Visualarq are efficient. Is this iformation still up to date? Is there other plugins which would facilate the process between a large pointcloud and a 3D model creation under Rhino? THank you for your advises and comments.

Have a great day

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

To date our Arena4D plugin is the only plugin for handling large point clouds in Rhino.

You can get a 14 day free trial from our website to use it.

If you need any help or have any questions please just ask.

Many Thanks

Mark
