Simple fast kerb extraction

Post by smacl »

We've been doing a lot of work to work to provide effective tools for automated extraction of road data in SCC r13 in recent months. To complement the automated white line, crash barrier and break-line extraction tools designed for motorways, we're in the final stages of testing a similar tool for easy kerb extraction in more awkward urban and suburban jobs. I'm pretty thrilled with the results and plan to have this available to those who want to give it a go. The video below with minimal editing of 1.6km of raw Pegasus 2 data givens an idea how fast and easy this is.

The long term goal is to bring processing speeds in line with collection speeds for massive point cloud data sets. Still quite away to go, but we're making progress for sure.
