Hi everyone,
We have developed special reference objects that can be used together with 3D scanners using surface structure. If you want to scan objects with too less surface structure (e.g. a car), these objects add additional structure so that you can easily capture the object without any problems.
The reference objects have a little magnet base included. Thus, you can place it upright or attach it to metallic surfaces. After scanning, you can easily remove the reference objects from the scans.

Fantastic Idea, Any chance of also getting them half the size for use with an Arm scanner please as they don't need to be so large.

That's a great idea we make all sorts of shapes and objects for the same reason. We found if you added some gray scale color variations to them it helps the Artec when scanning in Texture and Geometry mode.

Re: Reference objects for Artec Eva & Spider & other scanner
What a cool idea. I've tried scanning cars with the Eva and it was a nightmare....even with all the recommendations from the manufacturer, the scanner kept losing alignment. I came to the conclusion that this scanner is simply not for scanning cars or any object larger than its field of view. It did well on the inside because there was a lot of geometry, but simply couldn't do the outside.
