Ok, so you want to get into scanning but don't have a spare $100k+ or even $2-3k for a NextEngine. Well you can always build one yourself, and the software is free (or purchase for 49Euro)

sorted the software got my video camera working with the software, my daughter wants me to get the laser asap so images comming soon.

What type of laser are you going to use. Ive viewed the website and seen various setups and think the best location for the laser is below the camera or vice-verser.

For the moment I have a £9 laser level from B&Q.
Above or below as long its about 30-40deg from the direction of the camera.
Faraz Its not playing its research anyway my daughter loves this sort of stuff so am building it with her.

it works it really works no images worth posting yet. mm laser scanner for £9 bargin.
The paid for davids shapefusion at 49 euros looks good and will stitch textuered obj files.
