FARO S Series - Any Tilt and Turn Targets out there

Post by Slewis33 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 8:49 pm

Do you know of any tilt and turn checkerboard targets out there? Similar to the Leica tilt and turn targets. Leads to my next question, will the Faro unit work with the Leica tilt and turn targets? (black &white or grey & white)

The Faro and all current Leica scanners use black and white targets. I have used the older grey and white but extraction of the target in registration software is more difficult.

Using the pan and tilt targets work for the faro as well, just make sure they are the 6" targets and are black and white.

Thanks Wdigman.
I heard a rumor Leica put a reflective finish over their targets so Faro scanners have a harder time with them. Knowing Leica this would not surprise me at all.

just make sure that if you use the tilt and turn targets in Scene, you UNCHECK the option to "use checkerboard normals".
