Restricted access void scanning

Post by Jason Warren »

Hi,
A client has identified a potential void below an old building and wondered if it could be scanned. Unfortunately the aperture to the void looks to be an old brick/stone shaft less than 300mm diameter.
I would be interested if anyone has used the MDL Void Scanner or other device for such work?

Hi Jason/Matt
Look no further than SLS Coastway Surveys
http://www.coastwaysurveys.co.uk/subsur ... r-scanning
Void scanning is exactly what we do, using the MDL C-ALS, FARO and 6200 scanners.
Happy to have a look at your clients void and see can we get you sorted.
Laser Surveys & MDL would usually come to us if they have clients who need voids scanning.

Cheers

Mark

Jason .
We have carried out a plenty of surveys of inaccessible rooms using various remote deployment rigs, and have used the CALS for a project where we had a 9 inch diameter access port. If you are looking for a solution please drop me a line with more info on the access, and your Clients expectations.
Cheers

Thanks Matt and thanks for pointing out my use of English..... it could be read the wrong way! ;)

Yea sure, send me through more information Jason and I'll come back to you. We can get our FARO and Leica scanners down 20m and the C-ALS to 100m and into position remotely before scanning if needed.

Cheers

Mark

Hello

Well, the logo and title of this board not withstanding, MDL does not actually exist anymore, and has not for some time. In June 2013 the company was fully acquired by Renishaw plc and you can read here why we think it's a very good thing (investment in R and D, improved production facilities and practices, improved customer service): http://www.renishaw.com/en/new-home-for ... ers--27389

You can find information on Void Scanner at www.renishaw.com/voidscanner

The C-ALS may also be of interest at www.renishaw.com/cals

To clarify what other posters have said, you can purchase equipment from us, hire equipment from us, or hire equipment with one of our operators, from us.

Regardless, we'd be happy to help how we can. The Void Scanner is used daily for such projects so is certainly worth considering and you can use the form on our website to contact us directly, if you wish.
