Half Scan with RGB, Half with Grey Intensity

Post by andrew.grigg » Sat Aug 31, 2013 2:24 pm

More questions from me, sorry.

I had a project scanned with images.

I then scanned a dark basement with no images, which was to be merged into the previous project.

I have registered both projects together and would like to export a PTS.

However, I would like the scans with images to be exported with RGB values, but the scans with no images to be exported with Grey Intensity (instead of the default yellow).

I cannot work out how to change specific scans to a grey intensity without affecting the rest of the scans.

The scans are not unified. I've tried clicking on the scans in the ModelSpace and editing the Colour/Material, which doesn't seem to do anything. When I click Global Texture Map, it should colorises the scans randomly.

Is there an easy way to do this, or is there even a way to do it?

Thanks as always.

Andy

Hi,
one possible solution (which I have not tried though!) could be the free software cloudcompare. In the newest version it can convert RGB values to scalar fields.
After that you could then filter the pointcloud based on the RGB value of that specific yellow, cut the yellow points from the pointcloud, recolor those points and merge back to the entire pointcloud.

Cheers.

Check this post, you could apply texture maps from bw truviews. Shouldnt take too long on 10 scans
