Interesting. Having used the RT solution, the GeoSLAM Hub program needs improvement, so I'm interested to try that.

The promo video says the device captures "intensity", but none of the images show that, they are all coloured by normal value / height.

The data sheet is also interesting.
Under colourised point cloud, the spec sheet says "improved". Interesting comment that, considering I couldn't colourise my data at all using the RT solution.
There is also a tick by "referenced imagery", which I am interested to know more about. Does this mean that ortho-images can be produced? Or does this mean that you click a point in the cloud and it references to the relevant frame of video?

Looks like they are using a Velodyne puck now instead of the Hokuyo sensor. The Velodyne puck should provide intensity data.

Nice. Also a massive jump in data density at 300,000 points per second where the Revo was 40,000 points per second. Anyone know if there's any sample data available yet?

the puck should give longer range, but i believe it is a bit more noisy compared to the Hokuyo. Is that right?

I saw this at Intergeo. The sample data set that was on show was a simple walk around their offices. It looked quite impressive! Sven toggled between the various display settings and i saw the intensity values settings. Looks like a good bit of kit!

Since you have more range and more points/m² the feature detection will be easier for SLAM and therefore I guess the drift could be lower.
Haven't checked the specs yet so I don#t know about the accuracy.

Hello everyone, thanks for showing interest in our new ZEB-HORIZON solution.

To answer some of your questions;

- ZEB HORIZON has been launched with a new version of GeoSLAM Hub that is fully windows based hence no longer a need to install the virtual machine
- Yes we now supply intensity with the ZEB-HORIZON, an example with road markings taken from the new viewer is below
horizon_intensity.png
- We also have improved ZEB-CAM synchronisation for the HORIZON which when combined with having more points enables improved colourisation as below
horizon_colour.png
- A new pointcloud smoother option has also been implemented to further enhance the data
- With ZEB-HORIZON we are seeing our strongest and most robust SLAM to date both indoor, outdoors, and within challenging environments. As mentioned this is helped by having the longer range and increased point density for feature identification

Hope this helps, the product is immediately available and we have had some great feedback this week at Intergeo. If you need more info you call also contact geoslam at [email protected]
