IAFSM 2016 Conference, Nov 14-18, 2016, Orlando, FL

Post by 3DForensics » Wed Apr 20, 2016 11:48 pm

Hello All,

I am very pleased to announce the next IAFSM 2016 Conference at the Renaissance Orlando Airport hotel on November 14-18, 2016.
2016 Banner.jpg
We will be having training workshops on the Monday with topics that include:
  • Scanning for Mass Disaster/Aircraft Accidents
    UAV Flight School 101
    Photogrammetry Workshop
    Scanner Specific Training...etc.
Also, stay tuned for this year's workshop where we usually launch, shoot, crash or blow something up!

Details on the conference program will be posted soon, but abstract submission, registration, sponsorship and hotel reservation should all be at http://www.iafsm.org.

We've got an earlier start on this year's conference and if last year's content was any indication, it should be a great time.

Hope to see you there!

Eugene

Awesome! Adding to my calendar now :)

For those of you that missed this last year, please consider what you are missing. I have consistently been amazed with the high level of technical knowledge present at this conference. It is unlike anything else I have attended. I can assure you that you will learn new techniques that have been pioneered by many of the presenters. The only way I can adequately describe some of what I learned from last year's presentations is to use the term "jaw-dropping!" Unique content and techniques are discussed that are applicable industry-wide.

If you can't tell I am already excited about it, even though it is some time away

Are there any preferential rates agreed with hotel? Would attendees require vehicle hire to access the workshop sites?

There is a nightly rate of $145 a night with the hotel. You can find this on our website. As for the workshops, they have not all been finalized as of yet but if last year is a benchmark, there was no fee for the coach to the workshop location. No guarantees but we will try to do the same for this year.

Andy,

I can't recommend the conference enough. We have four days of very informative content, the features of which are the workshops we run. The conference attracts a wide range of disciplines using about a broad a selection of hardware and software solutions as you could wish for. Together with the folk who do the work at the business end, producing end deliverables to really showcase the data. As you might imagine there's plenty of social interaction and networking to share ideas and ways of working.

See Jonathan Coco's post for unbiased assessment!! :)

Does anyone have a contact at a 3D Printing Company that might be interested in attending, presenting and sponsoring our IAFSM event in Orlando? It would be great to have a manufacturer present on this topic since it is still a young and growing area which has already seen some use in Forensics.

Please PM me with any names you might have.

Thanks,

Eugene
