Hi
With laser control all scan from a site are usually managed bt one project.
However we need sometimes to concatenante different projects into a big one.
Do you have specific workflow to do this.
I usually have to rewrite some XML code into .zfprj file

Re: Workflow to concatenate projects
hi Olivier,
which release of Laser Control do you use?
in LSC 9 it should be the merge project option.
in your different job do you use tachy to register some scan over known points?
because if your different project rely on the same local coordinate system surveyed by total station .... they are just ok.
you export the scan in zfs format (or format of your choice) and import in recap. you can add more than one recap file to an autodesk software (autocarro, revit) so all your points cloud will be in the right position based on same superior matrix

Re: Workflow to concatenate projects
Hi
I am still in 8.7 LaserControl version ...
Yes we usually have the same coordinate system.
The problem occurs when we do a scan session with color , registration , ....
If we apply filters , colors , register, export scans on session 1 and one year later we scan the same area.
So we have to import new scans manually into project. but it's not clear what is the correct procedure for that.
In a matter of fact there are some data (ie photos, targets, ....) that will be lost if we import ZFS only.

Re: Workflow to concatenate projects
Hi Olivier,
Unfortunately there is no easy solution in 8.7. If you import scans from another project, they should appear in the correct location though. It should also import the photos. However, if possible, please keep all scans in the same folder.
If you re-scan the same area every year and using targets, I would actually keep the individual projects. If you need a scan of the previous year, to connect to, you could import that one scan into the current year’s project. Please feel free to contact me ([email protected]) to discuss more in detail.
We have worked on this issue during the past versions and simplified the workflow with a new tool to merge different projects in v9.0. Hence if you need to merge projects often, I can only recommend to have a closer look at the new version.
Best regards,
Chris
