Hi Mark,
You have a great product here !
Thank you for your support with our trials during the week, it is great to get same day answers from a UK company when we are based in Australia.
Your section tool following a curved alignment is brilliant, similar to "TopoDOT", but at a fraction of the cost.
I think Veesus will do well teamed up with McNeel (Rhino 3D)
Cheers,
Mike.
( and...it supports a 3D connexion mouse )

Hi.
Hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread ?

I'm very interested in using Arena / Rhino to model points clouds.
As things stand, I will probably have access to a Trimble Tx5, and Realworks to register the clouds.

Could you guys alert me to any compatibility issues I could encounter ?

Here is a recent thread explaining the work I am about to take on : http://laserscanningforum.com/forum/vie ... =23&t=9499
The work will involve capturing building interiors, model them, then share the clouds and models using a web based product.

Any feedback is most welcome !

Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

No problem with hijacking!

I've had a quick read through your thread and I'm pretty confident we can help one way or another. From my understanding you want to scan some sets/buildings then model them and share them?

All the scanner manufacturers have software that works well in terms of initial clean up and registration, so our packages tend to come in down stream of that.

Our software accepts point clouds in any of the popular standard formats (e57/Las/PTS) and then compresses them down to about 30% of their original size and optimises them for streaming.

You can model from them in Rhino using our plugin.

You can place them in a full real world model featuring 3D CAD models, annotations, measurements, images, panoramic images, and much more in our full desktop package.

The full desktop package has a free viewer which you can give to anybody for looking at your work.

We also offer a server which can stream the point clouds to a web browser or any of other packages.

There's much more but I don't want to bore you to death reading this! It's probably best to drop us an email to discuss further and get some demos of the software..

Send us a message through the website (www.veesus.com) and we'll get in touch to see how we can help.

Many Thanks

Mark
