Arena4D, Riegl and PoTree

Post by Mark Christy »

With just a few days to spare I'm pleased to say the new versions of the Arena4D suite will be ready in time for GeoBusiness next week!

We've rebuilt the point cloud engine (whilst maintaining backwards compatibility.. and now known as our XStream Engine) for even greater performance and efficiency. The gains were so good that we teamed up with Markus Schutz of PoTree fame to allow our Point Server to stream this data via the PoTree framework. This will allow users to stream their point cloud data to a web browser anywhere in the world.

Also included in both Data Studio and Rhino is native support for Riegl file formats (Thank you to Christian Sevcik at Riegl for his time and patience!).

All software has gained performance and had bugs squashed, with Data Studio gaining a significant UI refresh to make common tasks simpler and clearer than ever before.

All these changes allow customers to stream point cloud data from a single source across the internet to several different platforms simultaneously.

We will be demonstrating all of this at GeoBusiness next week on stand B2. So if you want to see more please pop along and say hello!

The software and user manuals will be available for download just before GeoBusiness opens, probably Monday.

Obligatory YouTube video of new features below...

Many Thanks

Hi Bas,

We're really looking forward to getting this out there in peoples hands.

It's really neat seeing the same point cloud being streamed to data studio, rhino and a mobile browser all at the same time.

It's looking good for a release on Monday and all current users will be getting an email to the download links. The new User Guides are available now on our website http://www.veesus.com.

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts

Any chance Z+F native data processing will be in the pipeline soon? or at least e57? these PTS are killing my SSDs!
