Arena4D + Kinect + Oculus Updates

Post by Mark Christy » Tue Jul 19, 2016 12:12 pm

New versions of all our software packages are available today. Of particular note is the improved Oculus support now that the CV1 unit is out and also MS Kinect support for building immersive environments.

VPC Creator

New to our product offering is the VPC creator which allows anybody to generate Veesus Point Cloud (VPC) files on their computer. It supports the latest SDK's from NCTech, Faro and Riegl and has updated E57 support for better performance. Typically the creator generates VPC files at around 20million points per minute.

Data Studio

Can't test this at the moment as I am on vacation in the UK. So the Kinect works independent of the Oculus?

Hi Eugene,

Yes the Kinect is seperate from the Oculus. Oculus already has user tracking so would be of no use really.

The Kinect is for use in the "cave" type environment, especially when coupled with the new fullscreen 3D modes.

Many Thanks

Mark
