We're very much directed by what our customers ask for.. so if somebody wants it we'll do it. At the moment the Oculus seems like the big player in the market and we've not come across anybody yet with any HTC kit. Should we do so then yes naturally we will build in support for it.
We have an HTC Vive kit on the way......? :D :D :D

Is that a hint? :)

In other news we've just released an update that supports the new 1.3 SDK from Oculus. I'd say it's a noticeable improvement in smoothness from the 0.8 SDK.

I am really really keen to get a first hand look at this. Do you guys plan to support any moblie platforms with the exportable content?

Hi Josh,

As with the Vive comments.. it's all down to demand and targeting the right API as there's currently a bit of an explosion of 3D headsets coming out all with their own SDK's. I know of some efforts to create a common platform but how well this works in practice I'm yet to see.

It would be good to get something up and running on the Google Cardboard type setup.... so watch this space!

I just finished listening to the interview that Chaos Labs did with IrisVR's Shane Scranton a few weeks ago

https://labs.chaosgroup.com/index.php/c ... ton-irisvr

It was really interesting to hear his perspective on the practical uses of the various levels of VR in architectural design. In particular, their pragmatic "just render a stereo cube map" approach for the most basic level really rang true. After all, just look at all of the utility that people in our industry have gotten out of 2D pano viewers like TrueView. Maybe this page:

https://irisvr.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/cat ... -Tutorials

needs a "Panoramas in Arena4D" section?

It's taken me forever to get around to doing this and because of time constraints, this is a one take with no bells or whistles, but I hope it gets the idea across.

We now need to get past the cool factor and place some useful tools in there for interactivity.

Good to see you enjoying the Oculus support Eugene!

We'll have it on our stand at GEOBusiness in a couple of weeks if anybody wants to come and have a play!

I was lucky enough to have a go at it at the GeoBusiness show this week.
The movements require you to get used to it, but if you ever flown a drone FPV or had similar experiences (games) it is not too difficult to get used to and is pretty cool.
Just a question of finding a proper use for it apart from the coolness element of it :)
