Arena4D 2.0 + Oculus Rift Support

Post by Mark Christy »

Now available for download is the latest version of Arena4D Data Studio, with a raft of new features this is a V2.0 release of our flagship product.

Major new features available today for all our customers are:
  • Powerful Key Frame Animation suite
  • Oculus Rift support
  • Riegl RDBX format support
  • Password protect projects
  • Export packaged projects
  • Volume calculations
  • 3D annotation text
  • Gamepad control support
  • Improved SpaceNavigator support
The animation suite allows you to create amazing videos with every part of the scene adjustable and configurable.

Oculus Rift brings immersive 3D vision to point clouds for incredibly realistic walk through viewing of scenes.

Export of packaged projects allow you to share your project with others without them having to install any software on their machine.

Please see the video below for a taster of what is in the new release:

I don't do any of that cool stuff, so I have a "Dell Workstation cardboard box" monitor stand (102mm is just perfect).

Any other great monitor stands? :?:

Question about the Oculus Rift support. Do you think the current available refresh rate for video on Oculus provides a usable experience?

Us engineers need to keep sustenance close to hand :)

Not sure about Neuss... that's one for Mark E to answer!

Bill,

Everybody who has come to our office and tried the Oculus Rift with our software has been deeply impressed by it. I have to say I was very sceptical but a customer requested we supported it so we added it.. now having tried it myself I have to say it's very good bit of kit. I've not had any issues with refresh with the glasses.

Andy,

You might want to check out the latest tutorial video on our homepage (also linked below) as we seem to be ahead of the new User Manual actually being ready (as if anybody reads those anyway...!) :)
