Hi all,
I’m just wondering if anyone can explain what limit box extraction actually does? And an example of when it would/could be used.
Thanks

Re: Limit box extraction question
Hi,
You can use this tool once if you have created a sample scan to get a preview of your project. You can limit where you want to extract the points from your TZF scan to save time (not extracting points you don't need). You can also do it in the scan explorer tool. I usually extract all the points with the scan explorer and then, in the production mode, i keep what I need.
Hope it helps you!

Re: Limit box extraction question
Hi Damien
The Limit Box extraction does pretty much what it says in that it creates a Cloud Object in RW consisting of just the points within the active limit box.
The cloud it creates is a duplicate of the relevant points in the main project cloud(s).
You can also apply a sampling filter when performing the extraction, in order to minimise or rationalise the points you're working with.
As for examples, generally I'd be using the Limit Box Extraction just as another way of segmenting and/or sampling the 'master' cloud.
Hope that helps.
Regards
