Vincent,

You still do a better job of explaining things than the 1600+ page user guide for RealWorks. ;)

I did some testing yesterday to fully understand the workflow and what is happening with the files. I may make a post about it in the near future, but if I want to take screenshots I'll need to start from the beginning.

Bumping this old post.

Did you manage to figure out any sort of workflow John?

I understand all the suggestions that have been made so far, but the critical point of information is that they are all explaining the point removal POST REGISTRATION.

I don't understand why it is such a complicated workflow?

1- I have 2 scans which I would like to register to each other.
2 - There are point in one of the scans which may cause registration anomalies, so I would like to...
3 - Remove those point from the scan. If possible, permanently and forever. Not create a separate selection in production mode and then merge the clean selection to the rest of the project... Because I haven't registered the scans together yet!
4 - Register the 2 scans together using the cleaned up points.

Perhaps the Trimble team need to look at updating the very old and outdated user manual and include some real-world examples and an easy to follow guide.

Hi Jared,

Did you succed to the procedure to delete wrong point? Because it's possible to do before or after Registration. I would say even more it's more easy to do that before registration.

Hi Vincent.

Could you give some advice on how to do it before registration?

I think you understand the solution upside down. The way to do is create objet from wrong point cloud (into miror for exemple) and remove this point from TZF files.
So process is :

- On Scan explorer, extract point, create to RW.
- Select your new object and into production module choose delete point cloud from TZF.
- If you had create your scan echantilloned (sorry i don't know the english word) it's necessary to delete them and regenerate (it's an extract from the TZF files)
