Congratulations Ian, I know your team worked very hard to make this happen. So glad there is finally a meshing software that can handle the complex nature of terrestrial scan data without creating a mess. I have a feeling we will be seeing many more impressive 3D prints from scan data in the near future

Ian, that's great news! Now that I have a 3D Printer I have a renewed interest in meshing and what "SQA" (that's my official abbreviation) can do for my workflow.
Cheers,
Eugene

Thank you for you kind words! We are really excited that we can finally share it more broadly and give more people a chance to try it.
The scan-to-3D print use-case seems to be gaining a lot of steam recently!

Very nice tool!
Extremely fast too.
A couple of samples. I used the default settings, and spent just few minutes test running it..
The church mesh is colored, but with no textures. The hull is not colored at the origin.
I have little knowledge of render stuff, so I have not idea on how to create a texture image.
Having a lot of fun..

Re: Thinkbox Releases Sequoia 1.0!
We are trying to see if Sequoia can mesh large terrestrial scans. Since this is our first few days with Sequoia, so we used the default settings (meshing radius of 0.184).
Here are a few screen shots of an project we imported into Sequoia as E57 files (about 50 scans of the interior of this historic hanger complex, total 250 scans) which is about 20% of the total project. Total points imported 735M.
With more operating experience, we believe that Sequoia will help us with meshing our projects into other deliverables.

Here is a Sequoia exported PLY file of the hanger project discussed above.
I guess the next trick is to get it converted to 3D PDF file.

I tested Sequoia meshing engine on single TX5 (FF3D) scan and rendered the result as orthophoto in Cloud Compare

Jiri, Nice detail from a single scan. It's much sharper than I would have expected.

Re: Thinkbox Releases Sequoia 1.0!
Scott: Very sharp indeed. I was surprised it meshed window bars quite well as they usually are full of noise. It was a HQ scan though. I also tried to mesh multiple lower quality scans registered to a point cloud. It came out less clean and sharp, but still better than expected.
