Hi, I'm very much a novice with Cyclone and need some help with post-processing scans.
So I have a series of scanned areas. Each area may have needed 2+ scans to scan the whole area under study. Each of these individual sets of scans are registered to its partner scan and to the local grid system (georeferenced). However, I need to combine all of these registered scans into a single registration/model. There are not enough common target IDs to do a simple Target constraint, and the overlap between the registered sets of scans is minimal making cloud-to-cloud almost impossible.
So, how do I combine multiple registered scans into a single model in order to view the larger area? I thought that since they were registered to the same grid, cyclone would simply place them in absolute space, but this doesn't seem to be the case. (A lot of this leg-work was done before I started with this project so there may be error introduced that I just am not aware of).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was just upgraded to Cyclone 9, previously I was using 7, so there may be a new tool or workflow I am not aware of.

Re: Registering/ combining non-contiguous scans
If you have a control file for the whole site, import that and set that as the home scanworld in a new registration. Add the other scanworlds to it and check they come in where they're supposed to. Assuming I've understood the problem this should work. Doing it this way, rather than just merging the modelspaces, will let you create a truview map.

Totally agree with Mark. It is that simple. Same concept as basic surveying.

Re: Registering/ combining non-contiguous scans
Create a new registration - import both scanworlds.
If they are both on the same grid - just hit register - (don't create any constraints) and create the modelspace.
They should both now appear in the same modelspace in there correct relationship.
