Leica Nova solution: A new dimension in measurement technology

I'm only going to post the laser scanning aplications of this device to keep in the theme of the forum.
For the first time, the Leica Nova MS50 combines every significant measuring technology in one device and opens the door to a fascinating new dimension of the geospatial world. All functions, including precision 3D scanning, extensive and precise total station capabilities, digital imagery and GNSS connectivity are now brought together in the world’s first MultiStation. The new mergeTEC technology fuses innovative hardware capabilities with comprehensive data management solutions. Images are synchronized with scans, and scans are tied into total station measurements, making it the easiest way to manage complex 3D data.

The Leica Nova MS50 integrates 3D point cloud measurements into regular survey workflows. Users can collect and visualize their topographic survey data with detailed high-precision scans. They save time by computing results and verifying the integrity and completeness of data immediately in the field, hence avoiding costly reworking or returns. Ultimately, users benefit from better decisions with richer and more detailed data.

I don't see any info on scanning resolution and speed, anybody has any info on that?

Don't quote me on it but, I believe it is 1000 points per second.
It is not the intention that the MS50 would be used to do a full 360 scan, more just focus in on specific areas.

I believe the precision and noise level is better than the C10. So one use could well be deformation monitoring if discrete areas.

I got information from Leica support here that the speed is 1000 points per second, the range is 200-300m and with the smallest speed it is possible up to 1000m.

I just had a demo and like it! Other then Leica suggested applications it would also make a good companion to phase scanner. First to coordinate scans/targets, second to scan parts that phase scanners can't reach. It might prove more efficient than wrestle with pulse and phase scanner and a total station.

I like the volume calculation the most. To be able to do this all on site with one instrument is amazing!
If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.
