Separating a Point Cloud into Sections
I am trying to separate a large file; 20GB, into sections so that I can render the point cloud without my computer bogging down. Does anyone know how I can go about doing this? Clipping Plane? Clean/Separate? Screenshots attached of the File I'm trying to break down into sections;

Hi ashley,
There are several ways to split your point cloud!

There are several ways to split your point cloud!
- the tool clean and separate will allow you to split thebpoint cloud according to a fence which you can define a depth. This tool is manual but gives a lot of options.
- the clipping plane / clipping box tool allows you to visualize only the points within a slice / a box. Remember that the clipping plane/box do not split the points into different groups. You can use the clipping plane to split though: using the command cloud / separate with clipping.
- another way to slice the points is to use "objects". The most natural object is a plane: define a plane and then select the plane and the point cloud, the command cloud / separate with object allows you to either group all the points within a distance to the plane into one set or to split the opints from each side of the plane. Note: this also works with cylinders, spheres, meshes, polylines...
