Thanks for that, mate! The problem is - there are a heaps of patents floating around (by various manufacturers) where you can obviously tell that its content is not (yet) available on the market.
Regarding this particular case: I don't know if Leica has incorporated this device into one of their newer scanners or if was designed for let's say their laser trackers or the like. The RTC applies an IMU, don't know what the BLK has. The spec sheet of the latter says "Instrument orientation - Upright and upside down" - hence, some orientation sensor is embedded. Which one? I don't know. From a marketing point of view I'm sure Leica would (and defo should) mention this new development. Anyway, this patent is definitely interesting.
As soon as I will compute a block adjustment based on "new" Leica scans that features e.g. a paper mill or a construction site where ALL compensator readings do not contradict the registration parameters we'll know that this thing is alive and well ; )
