Primitive Matching and Measurements in CloudCompare

Post by 3DForensics »

Hello All,

Another quick video in response to a question from a colleague about trying to take measurements of a cylinder/pipe from a point cloud.

Cheers,

Thanks for the tutorial!
There are some free tools around that are really impressive.
Both Cloud Compare and Gom Inspect are offering some top notch tools, even if with a different approach.
Cloud compare looks like a Swiss army knife equivalent for pointclouds, with some extremely nice features added..
Moreover your tutorials are always enlightening.

Hi,

Nice feature indeed. I played a little bit with the new clipping box of CC, but I couldn't find how to get the box coordinates. I just have the box dimensions (thickness).
Is it possible to set the box coordinates? (from x1 -> to x2).

Best regards,

Yan

Hi,

I just did a contour using a clipping box, and then exported it as a dxf. Most softwares are able to open it... except Autocad! (message: incorrect group 330 at line 668)
Is there a way to fix it?

Yan
