Leica Geosystems to Launch Mapping Solution
HexaGON LIVE’s pre-opening day displayed a mobile mapping solution by Leica GeoSystems. Known as the he Leica Pegasus:One which is compatible with a number of scanners including the P20 and the HDS7000.
The system is being proposed as a complete hardware and software solution. It's a plug-n-play system that does not require a dedicated vehicle. The system includes six 2mb cameras positioned to capture a full 360 x 70 degree view.
Details to Follow when more is announced at the show.

Re: Leica Geosystems to Launch Mapping Solution
Seems like Leica has buried the lead with this. I haven't seen anything about this other than this post. To me this is much bigger news than the Nova. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Leica Geosystems to Launch Mapping Solution
The information and the videos dont really show more than a few snippets of the point cloud data and how it looks in use in the software or what is captured.
I'd like to see much more of the actual data and how much it uses the scan data compared to what is produced from the cameras.
How will Leica's move away from their agreement with Z+F affect the Pegasus product?
Am I correct in thinking that the Pegasus is effectively being marketed with a scanner on board that Leica will not be selling very soon?
I'm guessing it will just be a case of bundling it with a P20 instead?

This will work with the P20 also. Can't wait to have a play with it.

Re: Leica Pegasus:One Mobile Mapping Solution
The spec sheet says that it will work with the P20 but at Hexagon Conference no one would give us a firm date on when P20 will be able to work in profiler mode as needed to actually use it...
