Virtual Reality
Hi Everyone,
Check below link. This HoloLens is really futuristic. Imagine that you can walk through you scan data and do inspections, deformation checks, and so many other things. there is rumor going around that the release date will be September 2015 and the price will be less than $500. I can't wait to buy one.

Re: Virtual Reality
Hi
I have seen the Hologram Room from Euclidean with their Solid Scan solution and this was unreal.
http://www.euclideon.com/products/solidscan/
If the solid scan can be used with the HoloLens this would be good.

Re: Virtual Reality
It depends, if they make partnership with Microsoft you will get Solid Scan on Hololens.

price of 3,000 for the developer kit ..out they have some work to do on this price point, i do understand its a developer kit but still...

Re: Virtual Reality
Setting an entry point price for developer kit helps to keep out the lookie lous. If you don't have $3k worth of interest and capital, they don't want to waste time answering questions from non-serious users.
Makes perfect business sense to me.

Re: Virtual Reality
good point!
hopefully they still plan to hit that $500 price point for the consumer based product
Either way it is going to be exciting to see what people can come up with now they can get their hands on these

CurvSurf USA is willing to pay Microsoft HoloLens $3,000/EA, total 2 EA.
CurvSurf has already developed and examined middleware on Google Project Tango,
youtu.be/
and on Intel RealSense.

It and it's related things will be a long and lonely way we CurvSurf only might go alone.Poux wrote:Joon,

Re: Virtual Reality
Hi all,
We got 2 units of Microsoft HoloLens.
CurvSurf is developing a demonstrative App for augmented reality with HoloLens:
- Detect, recognize, measure, track, and display the geometric primitives in real‐time
- Project videos onto the curved virtual screen wrapping a real object surface.
The geometric primitives include plane, box, sphere, cylinder, cone, and torus, fitted to the local spatial map (meshes) of object surfaces.
The curved virtual screens are just the surfaces of the geometric primitives fitted to the real object surfaces.
The only problem to CurvSurf will be that the raw point cloud stream is not accessible but only the undense mesh data after a post-processing of the raw data inside the HoloLens.
