Some Historical Treasures

Post by Scott »

OK--who scanned this gem?
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/15th-ce ... 15892cb364 --3D Model
"During excavations in the basement of the Courtauld Gallery as part of transformative building work ahead of its reopening in 2021, we were amazed to unearth the remains of this medieval chalk-lined cesspit containing an array of fascinating finds. This remarkable discovery is helping to shed further light on Chester Inn, a poorly-documented 15th century residence belonging to the bishopric of Coventry, Lichfield and Chester which once stood where Somerset House does today. More information can be found on the MOLA blog"

London Cesspit
Nobody wants to claim it  Looks a photogrammetry job, with nice detail of something I personally would not want much detail on.

Amazing what people will do to preserve history, even when its just an old toilet!

Ancient carvings of scores of animals unearthed in Spanish cave (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)
Note the scanner:
"Researchers are in the process of copying the cave’s walls with 3D technology to gain a deeper understanding of them, and of the people who created the carvings all those years ago."
