Job Description
Job Summary

A laser scanning technician is an essential member of the the Smart Geometrics team. You will use various methods of surveying to capture the results necessary for the given project. Based on clients requests, those methods could be Traditional Land or Construction Surveys, 3D laser scanning, or metrology. By these methods, SGM can deliver a high-quality product to the end-client.

Responsibilities and Duties

Execute traditional land or construction surveys using a Total Station

Perform 3D laser scanning surveys (Leica, Z+F, Faro)

Work with Project Manager on scope requirements prior to surveying

Interface directly with clients

Daily reports on scope completion and expenses

Follow employer and facility safety procedures

Serve as a crew lead on laser scanning or surveying projects

Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma with at least 2 years of surveying experience using a Total Station or;

technical degree with at least 1 year of surveying experience using a Total Station

Must be willing to travel (+/-50%)

Minimum 1 year of 3D laser scanning background (Leica, Z+F, Faro)

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
