The main enhacments in Cyclone 7 are.

Scan control
New scan interface for the new ScanStation C10

A new Traverse editor for creating traverse's after the fact back in the office which allows for traverse to be done in any order.

HDS6000/6000
New filter options for intensity, range and mixed pixels

The main thing that is new in Cyclone 7 is a complete re write of the database structure to allow for high speed data inport of both phase based and the new C10 data. C10 data will stream all data in real time when scanning with the laptop. Also very high speed data import of HDS6000/6100 data. With this may come some changes in the workflows and will report back once I have had a chance to use the software a bit more.

Hello Steven!

Is it mean that Cyclone database version 7 is not back compatible with version 6 or earlier?

Hi Mikle

It has always been the case that major version numbers are not back compatible Cyclone 7 will open and update Version 6 but you will need to convert any data in cyclone 7 first before Cyclone 6 will read it. This has been the same since version 3.1 and under most situations does not cause any issues.

I will get it, hopping that it will solve the crash of PTX import in batch process (mainly after 3 or 4 stations files).

Hi Romuald!

I had the same problem with 6 version.
I was wonder about 700Mb files cannot be imported into Cyclone. Each time I tried to import Cyclone showed me different errors!!!
The only solution for me is to split big PTX file onto small pieces (100-200Mb).
And did you find the solution?

Hello community.

One maybe interesting new feature may be that after a mutual agreement between our two companies, Cyclone 7 is now able to read our binary FARO scan files (FLS).
So there is no more detour via PTX export from FARO Scene and then import into Cyclone necessary.

The other way round, FARO Scene v4.6 is capable of reading both PTX and PTZ files.

Best regards,
