I updated my cyclone version to 9.0 and I am working on a comparison project which has me looking at data from 2002 and comparing it to data from 2013. The problem is that the update feature in Cyclone 9.0 only goes back so far and I'm not sure how to convert this 2002 .imp file so I can view it. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Phill

I'm sure this is possible, you may need to talk to support in the US for some assistance.

Hi Phill,
The only way that this may work is by first installing an early version of Cyclone. If the data is a reasonable size to post on an ftp server, you can zip it up and post it then I can convert it for you by first using an early version of Cyclone which we have. I think this would be easier than giving you the old version of Cyclone since it cannot exist on the same machine as 9.0. Also, it may require a specific version to first update the database, then once updated to that version, finally update it to 9.0. Let me know if you need to use our ftp site.
Regards,
Mark

Re: convert .imp files earlier than Cyclone 4.1 to 9.0
Thank you Mark,
I called the US Leica support and it looks like we stumbled across what we needed in the archives. After brushing off some dust, it looks like we have what we need to continue. It wouldn't hurt to have that link handy though because I am almost positive we will be relating back to older data in the future. I can always get a temporary license for an older version of Cyclone but if the conversion is easier to do through an ftp site then maybe that is the way to go. I am limited by my firewall protections however so it is likely that I would not have the freedom or permissions to use that link, but I will still try it. Thank you again for your help!

It would be good to have something like a FREE 'Leica HDS Exchange' bit of software that could import/export to any formats you like.
i.e.
import raw data > Recap
convert v4.0 > v9.0
export single files > e57
I think you get the idea
