Merge Selection Scans
Hey All,
I have a number of scans imported from a HDS7000 which have corresponding selection scans as .zfs files. Can anyone tell me how to merge these in Cyclone with the main 360 scan? Selections are enhancements of targets in the distance so needed for registration.
Cheers

Re: Merge Selection Scans
Hi
Do you want to have all the scans from same scanner position (360 scan and hi-res target scans) in one scan world?
You can just select those hi-res scans you need, COPY and PASTE in the corresponding scan world with 360-scan.

Hi There
Yes I do, all into one scanworld. I have imported the hi-res scans in as new scanworlds along side the 360. Do I just copy and paste the whole hi-res scanworld?
Cheers

Oliver
You can also copy them from one Scans folder to the other in the navigator, (or drag and drop) but when you open the 360 scanworld you need to turn the high res on in the scanworld explorer. It unbelievable that cyclone cant deal with this on import, but considering the 7000 couldn't read to 6000 black and white targets, nothing really surprises me from the guys at leica anymore. You can also import the zfsprj file which will add all the scans you have take to one scanworld (really handy!)
Cheers

Re: Merge Selection Scans
What about scans with an image?
I just did a large site scan with a C5.... Ya it was interesting to say the least.
I have many scanworlds that are suppose to be combined high res target scans and 360 scans but some where along the line hit the x button and backed to far back on the scanner, thus creating a new scan world. I had to do High Res scans of my targets or they would not have registered as targets.
Help please!

Scott
Same concept, pick up the scans from one world and put them in the other, then turn in on in the modelspace. Just make sure you are putting them in the scan with the images. You will have to do a apply multiimage after pasting the cloud in.
Set by step
1. Open the station; then the Scanworld (green one); then the scans;
2. Pick up the light blue thing
3. Put it in the scanworld you want it to be in
4. In the later go to station; then the Scanworld (green one); then the images; select you multiimage and right click and go apply multiimage
If you have to do a heap do the copying first and then go batch apply. If you are just doing your target scans just drop them in and dont worry about applying the images.
Hope this helps

Re: Merge Selection Scans
I followed those steps and opened up the Scanworld and controlspace but the scans are not merged. I successfully did this in the past with some tinkering based on your instruction (it wasn't able to work initially the first time with guidance from your instruction) but that project has been complete a while ago and I am now unable to get it to work. Am I checking in the wrong locations? What am I missing? All you need to do is copy and paste correct?
Thanks

Re: Merge Selection Scans
Sta,
It seems as though the suggested workflow should do the trick, so the only thing I can suggest is to upload the two scanworlds to an ftp site and send me a link. I will download it and try and merge the scans. If I find a workflow and or workarounds I can let you know asap.
My email is [email protected] I work with Cyclone and CloudWorx.
